Fine Art Giclées

ArtPress Publishing has dedicated over 10 years to producing the highest quality fine art giclée. Using 100% cotton watercolor paper and specialty canvas, we strive to ensure that each print is a work of art.

Iris/Giclée printmaking was born in the late 1980's when artists and technicians modified the Iris 3047 ink jet printer for Fine Art Printmaking. The continuous tone output and the ability to print on large sheets of 100% rag papers, canvas, and many other substrates soon gave rise to a new form of printmaking.

Today, artists, photographers, and publishers alike are using the Giclée process for their limited edition printmaking. There are many more printer and substrate options available today. New combinations offer superior longevity for prints. The Giclée allows for a high quality print, with "on demand" convenience.

Our philosophy at ArtPress is simple. We provide artists and publishers with the highest quality image capture and color output services available for Iris/Giclée printmaking. We use the latest digital imaging equipment, color management systems, and archival materials to produce our prints. Our Studio offers both photography and printmaking capabilities, which gives us complete control over the entire process.

The ArtPress photography studio is especially designed for fine art capture. Photographer davidC has been working with a digital scanning back camera since 1994. Scanning original artwork as large as 60"x80" with the ability to capture textures and reliefs as well as metallics and foils, gives ArtPress its quality edge over traditional photographic copy methods.

In our printmaking studio we use the latest IRIS 3047G series printers as well as the new wide format Epson printers. Paul Fortis, Master Printmaker, has been running IRIS printers for artists since 1994. A pastel artist and monotype printmaker himself, Paul's artistic understanding of color transcends smoothly into his digital printmaking. The ability to see color through artistic eyes and then translate that information into digital instruction for a printer is a true form of craftsmanship that no high tech software can supply.

Together, davidC and Paul Fortis formed ArtPress in 1998 to pursue their passions for digital printmaking.
